Who is Tim Berners-Lee and what is he best known for?
Tim Berners-Lee is a British computer scientist. He graduated from oxford in 1976 and always had a knack for computers because his parents worked on the first one. From June to December of 1980, he worked for a company called CERN this is where he created a program for himself called Enquire. This software allowed Berners-Lee to have files on a server that had a links to other files on the server. This allowed him to access files from other files. This came to be known as hypertext. This hypertext led to the introduction of the idea of a global hypertext. this would go on to become what is known as the world wide web. Which is what Berners-Lee is most known for.
