A content management system is and application, or a plug-in designed for web services. It contains a variety of tools for publishing websites. It includes everything from theme to how the mouse icon interacts when hovered over an item on the screen. Viewing the pages or a specific posts reach. It is a “one-sized fits all” version of creating websites from the ground using precise coding. It also encompasses thousands of pre-built designs for you just to provide your information and customization.

Using a CMS eliminates the need to recruit or hire someone with more technical knowledge than what you may have. Writing your own code, html and java script can be very daunting if you are not familiar. If you would need very precise control over your website, then it would be feasible to seek out and hire a web developer. When writing a code for a website you must consider ease of updates, changes, and tweaks that your site will need over time. Coding a website is very time consuming and expensive when compared to a pre-built design from a CMS.

Web site developers as an employment, have lost jobs due to the growth and popularity of CMSs. They are very far from being extinct. There are many people and organizations that still need that total control over every detail on their website. Content management systems can provide great depth and creativity too. What you choose depends on your exact needs, are you a hands-off, or DIY person?
