Hey there readers today we are going to be learning about bad behavior within the internet so without further ado let’s get started.
What are some examples of bad behavior in the online community and how could it be solved?
Here’s a story about how a Mother got her laptop had been locked down by a ransomware attack. It had been two days before Thanksgiving and a mother had gotten hit by a ransomware attack with 5,726 files had gotten locked behind a Crypto Wall, It was a Malware that was so powerful that it was almost impossible to be able to recover the info. The Mom had contacted the attacker through the ransomware’s type of communication feature. The ransomware creator had told her that she’d have to pay to get her files back or greatly lose them forever. But she had backed up her files six month ago but losing her years worth of many photo’s, documents, and other types of files was way to much pressure to lose so she had decided to pay the ransom. the payment was supposed to be done using bitcoin with it being 500$ for the first week and for the second week it had to be over 1000$. which the mother had to learn how bitcoin worked. But because of a huge snowstorm that had closed down the banks so the mom had to plead the attacker to please not increase the price of the ransom to 1000$. And surprisingly the attacker had accepted and for some reason gave her the key to be able to unlock her files. Somehow in the end of this story the villain wasn’t brought to justice and held accountable. what’s the practical lesson that should be learned here?. It’s probably that someone shouldn’t give in to someone’s ransomware and either call the police or tech support to be able to fix this type of problem especially within the work industry just contact the right person to be able to fix the problem.
Here’s an example of how cybersecurity could go wrong for a company’s products.
Intel Have faced a cybersecurity threat in China that could potentially impact their sales. The China Cyberspace Security Association has recommended that there should be a review for the cybersecurity of Intel’s products that were sold to be able to ensure that there’s national security and that the consumers rights are protected. But as a result Intel’s Shares had fallen by 2.03%, and reaching $22.20 in the pre-market trading. the association had highlighted that there was several problems with the security issues with the products by Intel for example frequent vulnerabilities and poor reliability. This problem hasn’t been fixed yet because it’s very recent but previously China’s CAC had decided to ban Domestic Infrastructure Operators from purchasing any product that are associated from Micron Technology or MU for short after it’s items had failed the security review. something that could be learned from this experience is that as a company you should do an overview check of the security that you have in place for your product to make sure that they can protect the customer before selling the product.
Thank you for reading this blog today readers hopefully we learned how cybersecurity shouldn’t and should be dealt with. Have a fantastic week readers bye
