No one controls the internet. It’s made up of many different websites that can be run by individuals, companies, governments, universities, etc. But no one person controls the internet. A few organizations have some governance over the internet like the Internet Engineering Task Force, which is an open organization anyone can join and suggests standards for websites, however, no one is required to follow these.
