Week 8 Cybersecurity Blog Post Due Oct. 17, 2023

Using the list above (or researching on your own), find one concrete example of “bad behavior” in the online space. In your blog post for this week, briefly summarize what happened… Who was involved, and what was the outcome? Was there financial loss or damage to someone’s reputation? Were the criminals held accountable? What practical lessons can we learn as a result of this example (i.e., what will you do to avoid being similarly victimized?)

Post this as a 400-500 word blog post. Submit the URL for your post to the Canvas assignment before Sunday at 11:59 pm.

According to pewresearch.org, a big problem in the online space is hacking which is illegally getting into someone’s account to collect their personal info or impersonate them. According to thefederalcriminalattorneys.com, hacking is an offense punishable of ten years in federal prison and a fine up to $10,000. Some common ways to avoid being hacked are changing your password at least every other month and making sure it doesn’t get leaked or revealed to anyone. Any personal info shared will lead to many disasters.
