Instagram is a social media platform used to stay in touch with friends and get involved in a community. Instagram can be used for entertainment with the interactive short videos called reels, or for marketing a small business with posts about new products.
The target audience for Instagram is predominantly Millennials and Gen Z, with ages 18-34 making up 61% of all users. Many Gen Z users have stated Instagram is their favorite social media app preferring it to TikTok, Facebook or Twitter.
Instagram’s source of revenue are the Ads on its site. From pictures to reels ads are all over the site and its no wonder that it’s the main revenue source for Instagram. There are a few more ways Instagram makes money though, including the Shop and Checkout features which allows users to find and even buy new products directly from the site. Companies pay Instagram to have their products listed in the shop and there is a transaction fee when you checkout.
To get the most out of Instagram interact with friends and be active in the different communities you may be a part of.
Duolingo is a language app that teaches you to write, speak or read a language with daily lessons. The app has reminders and notifications to keep up your daily use and complete challenges.

The sources of revenue for Duolingo are the subscriptions to the companies’ premium service, and ad revenue. Users who don’t have the premium service may encounter ads in between lessons.
The best use for Duolingo is as a beginning step in your journey to learn a new language. From the flash cards to the encouragement of daily use it can be very helpful but know its limits and don’t expect to be fluent in just a few days.
