- Live chat with Canvas support is available for all COTC faculty. This is a great resource if you can’t find the answer in the Canvas Guides. If you prefer to talk by phone, call 855-210-1668.
- The Instructure (Canvas) Community is a crowd-sourced discussion forum where you can find many excellent ideas and solutions for more complicated issues or unique needs you may have in a course.
The Training Services Poral offers short courses on both Canvas-specific and general eLearning/pedagogy topics.

Learning and Instructional Design Support
- For basic questions about the best practices COTC has adopted for online courses, first consult the CDK document and the “COTC Jumpstart Quick Reference.” Each has information about the content and format of things like the Course Home Page, the Syllabus, and other basic course elements, as well as some best practices tips.
- For questions that go beyond the information found in the above referenced documents, faculty should schedule one-on-one time with an instructional design or learning design specialist.
- If faculty members have questions related to COTC policy or procedure, they should contact the chair of the eLearning Champions Committee for clarification.
Instructional Technology Support
- In the event that the above resources are not able to help you resolve your question the next tier of support is the Digital Learning Team, either Kris Read or Kacy Burchfield.
- The Web & Digital Learning team should only be contacted after all other avenues have been exhausted.
