Following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendation to limit or cancel all gatherings, Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) has canceled all student and public events scheduled through June 30, 2020.

This includes:

  • All COTC events scheduled to be held on or off campus, including at all four COTC campus locations (Newark, Coshocton, Knox and Pataskala)
  • All events sponsored by COTC’s Workforce Development Innovation Center and Lifelong Learning Institute, including those held on campus and at the West Licking County Family YMCA
  • Public and private events scheduled to be held at any campus location

A limited number of larger campus events may be transitioned to a virtual format. In those instances when an event will transition to another format, event organizers will reach out directly to participants.

Spring Commencement

COTC was unable to hold a traditional commencement ceremony on May 1. Still, the college is committed to celebrating with our spring semester graduates in person when it is safe to gather in large groups. Students who have successfully completed their associate degree or certificate will be mailed their diploma or certificate after the end of the semester.

 

Independence Day Concert and Fireworks

The Independence Day Concert and Fireworks held annually on July 3 is canceled. The annual alumni celebration held in conjunction with the event has also been cancelled.

 

Blue Line Twilight Run

The Blue Line Twilight Run, previously rescheduled for July 18, is canceled.

 

Workforce Development Innovation Center

The Workforce Development Innovation Center (WDIC) is offering its most frequently requested training programs remotely as well as VitalPass. Visit cotc.edu/wdic to browse available courses and register.

 

Lifelong Learning Institute

All Lifelong Learning Institute events are canceled. This includes events at COTC’s Pataskala campus, West Licking County Family YMCA and other locations.

The Senior Living Expo scheduled on May 21 at COTC’s Newark campus has been postponed until further notice.
